- Currently the liveliest part of the Forum is, and this will be a real surprise to many people outside of BASS, the section about our upcoming AGM . . . . it’s currently running at 87 posts and 1,767 views! Next to the West Wales Fish-in it’s the social highlight of the year. Many travel up the night before taking rooms at B&B’s, Travel Lodges and Premier Inn’s and the pubs do a roaring trade as people meet up for a chin-wag and some banter (plus the obligatory curry). Many AGM’s can be boring . . . but it’s something we’ve tried hard to avoid. And it shows as some years we’ve had a fifth of the membership attend.
- Also popular is a new thread entitled – “3 new lures for the new season”. The list is interesting, with some ‘models’ I’ve not yet come across; but also some (relatively) old favourites.
- Foreign travel has reared it’s head with a lengthy discussion about the possible perils/pitfalls of carrying your reels in your hand luggage. And another thread on Airline Ticket Tips.
- Probably the most unlikely topic is one that actually pops up quite regularly. Lidl often has weekly offers and whenever goods which might have an angling ‘angle’ appear it’s not long before a thread on the Forum follows. It may be cheap but often its surprisingly serviceable.
- The Classified section has also been quite busy . . . people moving ‘gear’ on in order to raise funds for ‘new’. Some bargains to be had.
- Last but by no means least, and not surprisingly, the latest BASS Mag – the 40th Anniversary Edition has attracted a lot of comment.
