At the recent ATA AGM, Nigel Horsman of BASS made a heart felt plea to members of the trade involved with sea angling to support the BASS/AT campaign to raise the minimum landing size of bass to protect the species from over exploitation. At the meeting, Board Members and other attendees agreed to support the campaign by writing to Richard Benyon on behalf of their own companies. It would be really helpful if everyone could do the same.
Martin Salter has taken the time to write a sample letter (which is attached) which requires only a small amount of personalising where marked. Please feel free to amend in any way you see fit or to use the text provided to frame a letter in your own style. It will literally only take 15 minutes of your time to complete, but will add significant support to the campaign. The economic arguments carry great weight with government and your intervention will be invaluable.
If you can copy either Martin or Nigel into your correspondence that would be most great – Martin Salter, Nigel Horsman
