BASS AGM 2020

On Sunday 15th March, we will be holding our Annual General Meeting. The meeting is open to members and non-members, so if you’re already a member, or would like to find out more about BASS, with a view to becoming a member, why not come along.

The meeting will be held at Oxstalls Sports Park, Plock Court, Tewkesbury Road, Longford, Gloucester GL2 9DW. We try to keep administrative issues to a minimum – the main purpose of the day is to get together and talk about all things bass fishing. You are welcome to attend for the whole day, or just drop in at any time. The day starts at 9.30am, with official business running from 10.15am until 11.30am. We aim to wrap everything up by 5.00pm.

As well as the chance to meet up with like-minded bass anglers, there is a great raffle with some amazing prizes, and some very informative and enjoyable talks. This year we’ll hear from:

  • Tom Stamp (11:30am), a marine scientist at Plymouth University, who’ll be updating us about his Ph.D project tracking the movements of juvenile bass in Devon estuaries “The ecology and distribution of sea bass within the south west UK”. Several BASS members have been involved with this project.
  • David Curtis (1:15pm), who leads Save Our Sea Bass, the campaigning arm of BASS, will update us about SOSB’s campaigning work of over the last 12 months, and the current challenges facing bass anglers and bass stocks.
  • Mike Ladle (2:30pm), bass angling legend, and author of classic bass (and other) angling books, will tell us about his fishing in 2019.
Veals Mail Order (VMO) will also be at the AGM with a wide range of BASS fishing goodies available. If you have any specific items you’d like to purchase please let us know in advance, by emailing membership@ukbass.com

Hope to see you there.
