It is expected that Defra will shortly announce the consultation period for, the raising of the bass minimum landing size (MLS) from 36 cms to 45 cms, together with an appropriate rise in the commercial net mesh sizes.
It is important that ALL recreational sea anglers are made aware of this in order that they may participate, as other species sought by sea anglers will also benefit from any measures introduced as a result of the implementation of the proposals detailed in the bass management plan.
