It has become clear to me over time that there are things we bass anglers can do that increase our probability of catching large (8lb plus) fish. This is the first of a series of blogs in which I will look back over a lifetime of bass fishing and share details of how (and often why) I caught some of my large bass.

As of July 2019 I have logged 43 boat and 1 shore caught double figure bass from the Sussex coast. To give you an idea of my age my first double was caught in 1976 at the tender age of 17!

I hope this series of blogs is of interest to other bass anglers wherever you are based.
